Whether or not you're a fan of social media, I would venture to say that you cannot deny its power. Personally, I'm a huge fan of social media, though I have to keep myself from perusing Facebook for too long or scrolling endlessly through Instagram. One reason I love social media is its ability to connect people. Earlier this year I posted a status on Facebook for engaged couples offering to do their wedding stationery. This single post reconnected me with my friend Whitney who I know from diving in college. Whitney was on the team at the University of Florida, and I competed for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Even though we were in different conferences, I got to see Whitney at a few of the larger meets, and I always loved getting to spend time with her. Whitney is so positive, inviting, beautiful, smart and talented (she now works in pediatrics at UNC Health Care). Whitney and her husband live in Durham, North Carolina, and they really wanted to incorporate the city's skyline onto their invitations. Their wedding colors were navy and gold, so I wanted to keep the invitations really classy (gold just feels classy, doesn't it?!). I had a blast working with her vision and bringing it to life, and Whitney, I truly enjoyed getting to reconnect. Huge thank you to Six Foot Photography for the beautiful images below!
