Happy Friday! Landon and I were out of the country for a little bit this month, so I find myself a bit behind on blogging, yet again. However, I'm SO excited to share these photos with you. I've probably said this before, but the shoot below is seriously one of my favorite family photo sessions yet. I was introduced to Kate by one of my old co-workers at PACE (Thank you Courtney!), and I am so, so glad we were brought together. Even though our shoot in the Greensboro Arboretum was only about an hour long, I felt like we became fast friends. We'd been e-mailing back and forth about outfit choices (which I loved), and Kate even reached to me after Landon and I miscarried earlier this summer. She offered encouragement and a listening ear, which I found unbelievably kind from a new friend. Her husband Louis was just as kind, and I am absolutely obsessed with their little one, Felder. I mean can those blond baby curls get any cuter? Felder's expressions were priceless, and his joy was contagious. The Timberlakes definitely made a 7:15AM call time well worth it! Kate and Louis, it was an absolute joy to work with you! I hope you all enjoy some of my favorite moments from their session below!
Hello and happy Wednesday, friends! Oh, and happy August, too (how did that happen so quickly?!). I have a handful of projects from this summer that I'm super excited to share with you all, and the shoot below is no exception. At the end of June I had the opportunity to photograph the Adams family at the Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden in Greensboro. I met Dexter through a mutual friend (thank you for introducing us, Shayla Martin!) while I was working at PACE. Dexter is an incredible web developer, and he is also the co-founder of Kubashi, a social commentary and pop culture blog that you should definitely go check out here. I was able to collaborate with Dexter on a bit of photography work for Kubashi, and I was so excited to work with him again for a family shoot. As you can see, his wife Tiffany and his daughter Corinne are absolutely stunning...just take a quick peek below, and you'll see what a beautiful family they have! I fell in love with little Cori's personality the moment I met her, and Tiffany felt like a quick friend to me. Ultimately, I am thankful for summer nights, lots of laughs and time with this family! Wednesdays are sometimes tough, so grab a cup of coffee and take a short break to check out some of my favorite images of the Adams family...I hope they bring as much sunshine to your life as they brought to mine!
Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all are having a wonderful month of July despite this crazy heat (at least here in North Carolina). I can't believe I haven't blogged since the first of this month...life, especially in the summer, just seems to have a way of scurrying by! Nevertheless, I am back with images from another bridal session I photographed in June. I met Kellie (the beautiful bride below) through a mutual friend in Greensboro a few years ago, and I got to work with her on multiple items for her wedding day. We worked together on the bridal shoot below, and I also had the honor of designing her wedding invitations, RSVP cards and programs (stay tuned for photos of this custom stationery suite!). I am so passionate about photography and design, so I found great joy in getting to combine these passions and play a small part in making Kellie's wedding day special. One thing I really loved about Kellie's bridal session is the location we were able to shoot at. The images below were all taken at her family friend's incredible barn in Winston-Salem. The barn was just redone, and it was absolutely stunning both inside and out. When you combine a fun and beautiful location with an even more beautiful bride, the results are sure to be sweet. I hope you enjoy the images below!
Happy Friday and 4th of July weekend. June was a pretty exhausting month for Landon and I (both physically and emotionally), so I am extra ready for a long holiday weekend! I was tempted to shut down early for the week and head for the pool, but I'm just too excited about these photos to wait any longer to share them! Back in May I had the opportunity to photograph bridal portraits for my friend Katie. Katie and I met at Mercy Hill Church, and she is such a sweet and beautiful lady. I am really excited for the fall because Katie and her husband Matt will be leading a college community group through our church. Landon and I work with the Mercy Hill college students as well, so I am pumped that we will get to join together to share the gospel to the college women in our community. When you look at Katie's bridal photos below you may think that my favorite part about this shoot would be the incredible scenery...I mean we shot on the top of a mountain for crying out loud! The view was indeed stunning, but my favorite part about this shoot was getting to spend time with Katie. We had a forty minute ride to and from Pilot Mountain, and we got to spend this time chatting about life, weddings, husbands and Christ. Taking photos is always such a great joy to me, but I found the most joy in sweet time with this friend. Getting to build a relationship with a fellow sister in Christ while taking photos was almost too much for my heart to handle. I'm so thankful for this great blessing from the Lord. I hope you all enjoy the photos below and have an incredible weekend!
Happy Monday, friends. It's a new week with new mercies, and in that I find great comfort and rest. Thank you to everyone who read and responded to the post I published yesterday. To be honest, I wasn't really sure if I should share about our loss publicly, especially so soon after it occurred. It was pretty burdensome working through my emotions in order to form thoughts and words to share, but God definitely gifted me with courage and helped heal a small piece of my heart through the process. I am overwhelmed by the amount of support we've received, and I genuinely thank you all for your love and prayers for our family. I'm so grateful that Jesus moves towards us in our struggles, and I am continuing to fight to see His goodness in each moment of each new day. One way I see God's goodness so clearly is through the incredible people He's woven into my life. Two of these people are Christine and Justin, who are getting married later this summer! I met Christine and Justin at Mercy Hill Church, and I was honored to take engagement photos for them. As you can see below, both Christine and Justin are drop dead gorgeous people (both inside and out), so they made my job easy. The couple's love for the Lord and love for each other was extremely evident just in the few hours I was able to spend with them on a lovely Friday evening in Winston-Salem, and I am so excited to see all that God has in store for them in marriage. Christine and Justin, you guys are awesome...thanks for letting me capture this special season in your lives!
